Play battle snakes1/9/2024 ![]() ![]() Despite what his reputation suggests, Highbottom’s not the one truly responsible for the Hunger Games. ![]() Standing over Highbottom, Snow gloats about the power he’s accrued with Sejanus’ influential family through his and Gaul’s lies, while his rival reveals a shocking truth. However, it isn’t until he pays a visit to his longtime rival, Dean Highbottom ( Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage), that he celebrates his victory. When she asks him who he is, he responds, “The victor.” Thanks to Gaul’s recommendation, he’s subsequently given the money and position within the Capitol that he’s spent his entire life fighting for. Gaul, who asks him for the second time what he thinks is the true purpose of the Hunger Games.Ĭoriolanus tells her that the purpose of the Games is to remind the people of Panem who they are. Coriolanus, meanwhile, gives up on his pursuit, hides his gun at the bottom of a lake, and returns to District 12, where he’s informed that he has been ordered to return to the Capitol. Her ultimate fate is left unclear and she, in effect, becomes as much of a mystery as the mythic Lucy Gray she’d sung about in one of the film’s previous scenes. Coriolanus fires his gun in every direction, but it’s never revealed whether any of his bullets connect. In doing so, Lucy Gray manages to elude Coriolanus and signals to him that she knows he’s the one responsible for Sejanus’ hanging. While he does briefly spot her and attempt to shoot her, though, Lucy Gray uses a flock of nearby mockingjays to confuse him with repeated echoes of her voice singing The Hanging Tree. Angered and paranoid, Coriolanus begins searching for Lucy Gray - suddenly aware that she wasn’t quite as blind to his many lies as he’d believed. When he attempts to retrieve it, he’s bitten by one of Lucy Gray’s snakes, which had been carefully placed beneath the garment. Shortly after he does, he discovers his mother’s shawl, which he’d given to Lucy Gray as a gift, discarded in a nearby forest. Time passes and Coriolanus decides to go looking for her. How does The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes end? LionsgateĪs he begins devising a new plan for his future, Lucy Gray steps away to gather supplies. What’s worse is that, as Lucy Gray herself notes, she and the gun are the only things that could tie Coriolanus to Mayfair’s murder. Suddenly, Coriolanus is forced to choose between a peaceful existence spent in exile with Lucy Gray and a second chance at the glory he’s long desired. When he and Lucy Gray decide to camp out in a remote cabin located near the outskirts of District 12, though, he unexpectedly discovers the very gun he used to kill Mayfair hidden beneath the cabin’s floorboards. What’s less clear is whether or not he truly cares about her as much as he says. It’s clear that Coriolanus is only going with Lucy Gray because he wants to avoid punishment for his actions. Dont starve together gifts1/9/2024 ![]() Winter Foods have an indefinite expiry, being one of the only foods, similar to Halloween Candy, that players can rely on all year around. ![]() Winter Foods have a 20% chance to be dropped when killing any mobs, including animals and monsters. Similar to Halloween Candy, Winter Foods are an exclusive food item that appear during the Winter’s Feast event. Similarly, players will be able to make these changes up until the end of the event, though players cannot “dupe the system” by making a clothing set on the last day in hopes of switching back into the skin after the event is concluded. If players have not chosen a Holiday-themed skin before creating their world or didn’t realize that there were any special skins available to them, they can use a Wardrobe during the Winter’s Feast event in order to select one of the available skins. To my knowledge, players can remain in their chosen Holiday-themed skin beyond the event if they do not change skins, though I will confirm if this is still true at the end of the 2020 Winter’s Feast event. While exciting, it’s important to note that once the Winter’s Feast event has concluded, players will no longer have access to these special Holiday-themed skins and will either have to make an in-game purchase to use them going forward or will have to obtain them in other means. When starting a new world during the Winter’s Feast event, players may notice that they access to a number of skins they did not previously own. Ice Fishing Rod (2019) CURRENT AND PREVIOUS DATES FOR THE WINTER’S FEAST EVENT Winter’s Feast is an annual event that takes place every year during the Holiday Season, spanning from December until January, featuring many Holiday-themed skin, Winter Foods, Winter Ornaments and craftable items such as Winter’s Feast Trees, Festive Tree Planters, Gifts and Gift Wraps.ĭuring the event, players are commonly awarded a new skin, previous ones include: Proceed to do this for the maximum time and you might get a spiffy to sell on steam, for money.I love games that feature events, especially when the events provide players with free loot they would otherwise have to spend their money on in the cash shop.Īlthough I’m a big fan of the Halloween Hallowed Nights event, because of the access in provides players to unique crafting recipes, I’m a much bigger fan of Winter’s Feast simply because of the amount of goodies it provides players. When playing, don’t worry about your PC crashing as gifts will track for the week. The server count has to have one player as discussed latterly, and you need to keep the tab open, as if not you will end up perishing from the elements or losing progress. Opening Crafting menu if you have the setting enabled to pause while crafting or pressing ESC without leaving the server. The gifts obtained are opened by standing beside a science machine, (an alchemy engine is also a viable option.) From my experience, the best option for doing this is simple, set your player count to one before you boot up a world and make a plus spawn if you want the ease of access to materials for a science machine, and proceed to auto-pause in any form, (Ex. Usually, a pop-up will appear, showing a gift you’d commonly get each day in the top right corner of your screen, usually having a notification sound to show that a gift is ready. ![]() I’d suggest searching for a video explaining weekly gifts if you’re interested in the topic. The last present is gained at eight hours played, however, it doesn’t track if you’re playing or not, so setting up an AFK farm is easy. These presents are given at certain rates throughout the week. In Don’t Starve Together specifically, you can gain presents over time as you play the game. This guide is used to show the relevant topic of afk spool farming. ![]()

German wolfpack logo1/8/2024 ![]() ![]() was allowing more and more vessels to hit the waters with radar and sonar that would find the U-boats wherever they hid. The technological and industrial might of the U.S. The tables were, slowly, shifting in the Atlantic, though. Even counting the probable loss of U-132, Germany sacrificed three submarines in this pursuit. But 15 ships were already sunk and more damaged. The next day, November 5, the convoy reached the range of anti-submarine planes and those, combined with the increased naval escort, finally drove off the German vessels. Navy dispatched two destroyers to guard the convoy, but SC 107 would lose one more ship in the closing hours of November 4. Now near Iceland, ships laden with rescued survivors broke north for Iceland to disembark those still alive while the rest of the convoy continued east. Approximately 30 minutes after it was attacked, the fires resulted in a massive explosion that shook the waters, damaged nearby ships, and likely sank the German boat U-132. ![]() One of the ships hit was a large ammo ship filled with munitions. The USS Schenck was one of the destroyers sent to protect SC 107 from further attacks on November 4. As night fell, the subs hit four more ships and sank them, including the "commodore ship," where the top merchant mariner of the fleet sailed and commanded. On November 3, 10 submarines made attempted attacks, resulting in the sinking of one tanker. Another destroyer was added to the bleeding convoy. The next day, November 2, a new escort corvette joined the convoy, but it couldn't stop the sinking of a ninth convoy ship. After the first ship was finished off, another seven were hit and destroyed by simultaneous attacks from multiple U-boats.įour submarines succeeded in sinking enemy ships that first night, and three others had taken shots. One U-boat made it past the escorts and hit a ship with a torpedo. The escorts spent the first hours performing desperate passes around the convoy to keep the U-boats at bay, but after midnight the subs made their move. German submarines were equipped with deck guns that allowed them to slaughter undefended convoys, but they used their massive torpedoes to kill convoys when surface combatants were in the water. But it was 42 ships protected by only five ships, only one of which was a destroyer. On October 31, two submarines were driven off.īut, by November 1, the Western Local ships were at the edge of their range and had to turn back. Two German U-boats were sunk, and another sub attack was interrupted. ![]() They worked together with land-based planes and bombers to smack the submarines down, hard. This made for three destroyers and a few smaller escorts. So the thin escort was buttressed by the British destroyer HMS Walker and Canadian destroyer HMS Columbia. Luckily, this first contact came within range of the Western Local Escort, ships assigned to protect convoys near the Canadian and American coasts as the convoys were still forming and starting east. The German radio traffic tipped off the convoy that it was about to come under attack, and its escort deployed to protect it. Allied bombers helped sink two German U-boats at the start of the fight over SC 107, but the convoy soon moved out of their range. ![]()

Jazz take 51/8/2024 ![]() ![]() The amalgamation of international styles influenced the group to experiment with unfamiliar sounds, unconventional pacing and uncommon time signatures for an upcoming album. Even so, the band marveled at local musicians while overseas - particularly Turkish street performers playing traditional folk songs in varying rhythms. The tour’s mission was to showcase American ideals and its racially inclusive sentiments - a falsity the band would come to experience while traveling domestically in the early ’60s. Only a year prior Brubeck, alto saxophonist Paul Desmond, bassist Eugene Wright and drummer Joe Morello had completed a world tour funded by the United States Department of State, performing 80 concerts in over 14 countries, including Turkey, Poland, Iraq, Afghanistan, India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Prior to recording Time Out in the summer of 1959, Brubeck and his bandmates had no intention of creating a commercially viable record. Brubeck refused to use race as a safety net, however he never stopped working with both white and black musicians for the duration of his career, despite industry pushback. His appearance - that of a middle-class, well-groomed white male - provided him with a wider appeal to the predominantly white mainstream than leading African American jazz artists like Miles Davis or Duke Ellington. Uncomfortable with his fame, Brubeck felt he was only receiving the adoration due to his skin color. After a handful of moderately successful releases throughout the first half of the decade, mostly targeted toward college students, Brubeck found himself on the front of Time in 1954, making him only the second jazz artist behind Louis Armstrong to grace the cover. 14, 1959, Time Out wasn’t 39-year-old Brubeck’s first album nor was he an unknown at the time of its release. Jazz is one of the United States's greatest exports to the world.Josh Groban Explains Reason for Leaving 'Sweeney Todd' & Reflects on 20 Years of 'Closer' At the same time, jazz spread from the United States to many parts of the world, and today jazz musicians-and jazz festivals-can be found in dozens of nations. Jazz developed a series of different styles including traditional jazz, swing (listen, for example, to Benny Carter, who got his start in swing music, in Benny's Music Class) bebop, cool jazz, and jazz?rock, among others. The evolution of jazz was led by a series of brilliant musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington (listen to Ellington in Duke's Music Class), Charlie Parker, and Miles Davis. (In later years, people would sit and listen to it.) After the first recordings of jazz were made in 1917, the music spread widely and developed rapidly. African-American musical traditions mixed with others and gradually jazz emerged from a blend of ragtime, marches, blues, and other kinds of music. The city's population was more diverse than anywhere else in the South, and people of African, French, Caribbean, Italian, German, Mexican, and American Indian, as well as English, descent interacted with one another. New Orleans, near the mouth of the Mississippi River, played a key role in this development. Jazz developed in the United States in the very early part of the 20th century. Those are just some of the reasons that jazz is a great art form, and why some people consider it "America's classical music." THE GROWTH OF JAZZ And about making something shared-a tune that everyone knows-into somethingpersonal. Jazz is about making something familiar-a familiar song-into something fresh. The musicians' playing styles make each version different, and so do the improvised solos. ![]() ![]() ![]() Jazz musicians place a high value on finding their own sound and style, and that means, for example, that trumpeter Miles Davis sounds very different than trumpeter Louis Armstrong (whose sound you can hear in Louis's Music Class.) Jazz musicians like to play their songs in their own distinct styles, and so you might listen to a dozen different jazz recordings of the same song, but each will sound different. In jazz, you may hear the sounds of freedom-for the music has been a powerful voice for people suffering unfair treatment because of the color of the skin, or because they lived in a country run by a cruel dictator. (You can hear Ella Fitzgerald and Roy Eldridge do "call and response" in Ella's Singing Class.) Jazz can express many different emotions, from pain to sheer joy. You can often hear "call-and-response" patterns in jazz, in which one instrument, voice, or part of the band answers another. There is tremendous variety in jazz, but most jazz is very rhythmic, has a forward momentum called "swing," and uses "bent" or "blue" notes. In most jazz performances, players play solos which they make up on the spot, which requires considerable skill. Jazz is a kind of music in which improvisation is typically an important part. ![]()

Spotify vs premium 20171/8/2024 ![]() dollars in 2017, Spotify is strongly positioned to take advantage of the expanding North American streaming market. Spotify currently has over 210 million paying subscribers worldwide (44.4 million in the U.S.) and offers a free tier option as well as tried and true music-sharing and discovery experience. ![]() With digital streaming music revenue in the United States surpassing 5.6 billion U.S. A major part of Spotify’s expenses are the royalty fees that the streaming platform has to pay to the music artists and license holders, with payments amounting to over 882 million U.S. Spotify confirmed to The Verge that its trialling Spotify Plus, a new 0.99 per month plan that looks to mix aspects of its current free and Spotify Premium tiers. In 2015, the company’s revenue surpassed 1 billion euros for the first time but not without a cost – that year, Spotify’s net loss amounted to 162 million euros. In the second quarter of 2022, 30.5 percent of music streaming subscribers worldwide had a subscription with Spotify, almost double the share who were. I am a loyal spotify fan even i dont use it anymore i still keep my premium also coz it cost me USD 1.5 so thats that too. Spotify also allows users to login with their Facebook accounts and to cross-post their listening habits to the social network. ![]() For alternative plans, find the tables below: Apple Music Plan. An individual Apple Music plan costs 9.99/month, which is slightly cheaper as Spotify Premium’s new 10.99/month rate. First off, Apple Music pre-adds are only available for albums, so singles do not qualify. Spotify and Apple Music both offer pricing options comparable to one another. Spotify’s appeal does not only lie in its music streaming and online radio capabilities but the platform’s strong social components such as users being able to add and message friends, as well as being able to create and share music playlists as well as recommend tracks to connected users. The big difference in function for pre-adds applies to the artist. As of November 2018, the platform, which is headquartered in Stockholm and London, had 87 million paying users and in 2018 had approximately 207 million monthly active listeners. Spotify is one of the most leading online streaming services worldwide. Whilst the company has been operating at a loss since its inception, the 2021 figure is a decrease in net loss from those reported between 20. In 2022, Spotify suffered a net loss of 430 million euros. Starting soon, artists will have the option to keep new releases out of Spotifys free tier for up to two weeks, meaning the services users will need Spotify Premium (9.99 per month) to hear. ![]()
